Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
My name is Jo-Ann Wilson, I am 24 and I live in Edinburgh, Scotland :D.

I am a Type One Diabetic, and I have been since the young age of 3.
My diagnosis was not the easiest, and was a very horrible thing to go through at such a young age.

I have never been on any kind of forum before, but I recently decided that being a part of one may actually benefit me in a lot of situations. I also strongly feel it would be more beneficial to share my problems and advice with people who can relate on EVERYTHING.

please be nice to me! 😉😛

Hi and welcome. How are you finding your diabetes management during this period?

OH THAT IS AN INTRUGUING QUESTION!

I am finding it a little bit tricky, I do have my moments where everything is a-ok, and then I have my not so a-ok moments. Diabetes is challenging enough as it is, and I feel with all this going on, sometimes it can be hard to cope.

thank you for asking!

Hi Jo-Ann and welcome

I am sure most of us know that feeling of coping pretty well and then not so well. I have just dropped into the latter after a few days of doing really well. It is a constant battle which most days, doesn't take too much effort but other days feels like a real struggle. I think, to some extent, it depends what other things are going on in your life and sometimes managing your diabetes can be the last straw..... says the woman who has just resorted to a G&T and a jar of black olives with a spoon to get me through the rest of the day!

Anyway, great to have you aboard the forum. I am sure you will find it beneficial as well as perhaps being able to pass on some tips of your own since you are a bit if an old hand at it compared to some of us recently diagnosed members.

Hi Jo-ann and welcome.

Welcome to the forum @Iron_Stark_24

Glad you have found us 🙂

It can be very helpful to have the forum as a sounding board and ‘hive mind‘ to consult for any questions, frustrations and challenges you find yourself in the midst of. Ask away! Or feel free to rant and moan about the fun and games of daily BG juggling.

Welcome to the forum @Iron_Stark_24 . Glad that you have found us.
As you say D really does not know how to be consistent.
Some days seem to run perfectly and then ....

How do you manage yours. Pens or pump? Libre?
I can honestly say that I have learnt most of what I know about my management from others on here.
A great place to keep up to date with developments, to ask questions and also for a rant now and then.
