I'm t1 for over 30 years had lots of problems with my stomach recently and found out I am wheat and dairy intolerant and also have gastroparesis - just wondered if there was anyone who had similar any good advice ??
Hi Helenjmp, welcome to the forum 🙂 We do have members who suffer from gastroparesis, so hopefully they will be along to share experiences. What insulin regime are you on? A pump can help a lot with keeping levels under control when digestion speed is erratic. Also, a Freestyle Libre sensor might be helpful in monitoring levels and spotting trends (although not yet available on the NHS).
Hi Helen welcome to the forum. I was diagnosed with gastroparesis five years ago after 39 years with diabetes. My doctor prescribes me Domperidone and erythromycin but said a year ago that she would prefer me to stop the erythromycin and only eat puréed food. Fortunately she let me continue withe erythromycin because I couldn't face only having puréed food. Having the pump made the most massive difference to me being able to control my gastroparesis BGS and my HBA1C is c.7.0 thanks to a six hour multi wave for my evening meal and giving myself extra basal between 2-4am to deal with the delayed food. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Hello Helen and welcome to the forum.
I'm gluten, wheat and lactose intolerant. Sticking to a GF diet is easy enough to do and so much healthier the lactose/ dairy is a pain but have found you can buy enzymes from health food shops with solve that problem as long as I don't go overboard with dairy products.
Hi Helen
My gastroparesis is looked after by a diabetes consultant who specialises in gastroparesis. The medication helped lots for the first few years, bu it is a combination of good and bad days. I'm now finding that I can often only manage one meal a day without feeling very uncomfortable. If I didn't drink wine🙄 the weight would drop off of me.
