I'm new to this board been diabetic for ten years injectin myself twice a day I noticed yesterday that the insulin i'd been taking was out of date and have been feeling unwell for a few days the date was end of October. In the past all use by dates have been all been 16 months down the line and never bothered checking them. I used 4 of the 5 cartridges.

you really shouldnt be using out of date insulin... get a prescription tomorrow and throw out all your old stuff! i find it useful to check all my diabetes stuff every few months to make sure everything is still in date.

Its the only one I have all the rest 2009 and one box 2010 been in contact with the chemist he's not impressed.

hmmm maybe just a dodgy batch? did you find your bg was high when using the out of date insulin?

yeah felt awfull was shaking etc had to have mars bar and glucose drink within minutes and bled when taking injections.

That sounds like more like a hypo.
Has your latest injection kicked in to cover the added glucose? What is your bg now?
These things always seem to happen at weekends. Try getting advice from NHS 24 if things don't sort themselves out befor you go to bed.
