Am still in the same situation as I was 2 weeks ago. Still not sleeping etc...and the legal side is still not sorted. Have a read at the other thread....

I haven't any Victoza to take....and the Medics must know this...which to me proves the vindictivness of them.....

However, I have just tried to order Metformin on the GPs automated system....and I am blocked. Can't order anything.

I will run out of the Metformin on Sunday next. Bright ideas?

I cannot be allocated to a new GP until I resign from the present one according to NHS England.

So I am in limbo...

Many thanks for your kindness....

Janet

Ring the surgery to ask for the prescription of Metformin, just to see what happens. If you do get some, that gives you the time to change doctors.

Hi Janet - hope that ringing the surgery offers you success in getting your prescription. You have mentioned that they are not prescribing the Victoza, but there does not seem to be a reason why the GP would cease prescribing the metformin, which would leave you with no diabetes medication?
Keep us updated as to whether you are able to obtain your prescription.

I have responded to your other query in your your previous thread: https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/boards/threads/havent-a-clue.72217/#post-806875

No success with ordering the Metformin....it takes 24 hours even on the automated system. So it will be Thursday (5April) before I know.
The Pharmacy will ring me if they do receive a script. (Lovely people...!!)

All the medicines I take regularly have been deleted from the GP's auto system...even the monthly ibandronic pills. Could be a simple typographical error...(oh wait a minute....the medics don't do those...lol) So I am left with nothing. Tells me everything....and what I need to do long term...

The DSN and the GP both must have known I would run out of the Victoza on 21st March....but still notified the DVLA.
In myself...am still struggling with it all. I did do a hypo awareness course..and the dieticians course at the (Northern town) hospital. ...maybe back in 2010. Think an update is needed. Its the Coeliac and the T2 together thats sometimes a problem.

I have done nothing wrong..and its me thats left with all the grief...and expense of sorting it all out.

You....and I mean the collective you....have been so kind....thank you. Stay safe...

Janet have you thought about contacting the practice manager about this...or putting something in writing so they can be clear exactly what your concerns are?...ask for a meeting otherwise the situation is unlikely to be resolved...they have a responsibility towards their patients I've copied a couple of points from the NHS constitution that are strictly relevant:

1) Treat you with courtesy and give support in the handling of any complaint and ensure it has no effect on any future treatment
2) Identify, acknowledge and learn from mistakes, complaints and claims

Have you taken any steps to address the problems directly with surgery... the referral to the DVLA... the withdrawal of Victoza... the dwindling supply of Metformin & deletion of your regular medication from the system; unless you draw their attention to these difficulties soon...ask for an explanation...or a suitable remedy the problem will exacerbate...I think you need to be pro-active with this sooner rather than later.

phone 111 (Non Emergency Medical helpline) or Arrange an emergency apt at the hospital & get a prescription that way (111 will probably tel you to do that anyway but may be able to arrange it direct). we had to do that late last year when my partners mother forgot to get her blood pressure medication in time before visiting.
