Nice to have found this place! I have chronic pancreatitis and my pancreas is failing... I know the chances of 3c are very likely so I'm here to learn more about it!

Welcome, there a few 3cs here, I believe one joined in the last couple of days looking for others. I’m sorry to hear about your situation, and the uncertainty that must bring. I wish you all the best and hope you get plenty of support here x

Hello Opalescence - nice to meet you.
This is a great forum with lots of helpful people. I learned a lot here and I am still learning. I have found that things are less scary when I ask questions here.

Welcome to the forum @Opalescence , but sorry that you need to join.

it sounds a good plan to be prepared, and as others have said there are a few 3cs on here, including @eggyg who happily helps out with any questions. A lot of the treatment for the diabetes aspect is much the same as for T1, so there is a wealth of experience to tap into. Do ask any questions that arise.

Great to see you @Opalescence
I have Type 3c following acute pancreatitis - basically treated as Type 1. There are some added complications - lack of digestive enzymes and possibly lack of glucagon.
Are you already taking Creon or similar digestive enzymes to help digestion?

If you do an internet search for Type 3c diabetes and Healthy Living you should come across a leaflet by the Nutrition Interest Group of the Pancreatic Society which gives a lot of information which I found a useful explanation of the issues around Type 3c.

Welcome to the forum @Opalescence

Glad you have found us 🙂

How long have you been living with pancreatitis?

Do you need to take Creon?

Hope you find exchanging experiences, hints and tips with the folks here really helps and encourages you.
