I was a member of a gym/swim for 18 years and used it five mornings per Lockdown has meant I cannot do this now. I walk most days usually between 3 to 5 miles more in the better weather.

Ah ok. The best I can suggest is use full fat dairy products if you can tolerate dairy, use fattier cuts of meat (which is probably contrary to everything you have ever read) and add more nuts into your diet.

I only need to look at a calorie to put a pound on so not the best to advise - more people will be along with more experience!

Eating more fat is a good way of providing your body with much needed calories (if you need to gain weight) whilst not increasing your BG levels. Things like a chunk of cheese and some nuts and avocado and eggs and full fat mayonnaise and a knob of butter in your green veg or cream cheese. Vegetables like aubergines and courgettes and mushrooms will soak up olive oil and give you more calories without the carbs. I love a good ratatouille!

Thank you for the advice, my BS, below 10 now so delighted, the increased medication is working.

Good to hear things are going well for you @Elizabethe and congratulations on your improved results!

Many members find good fats a very useful addition in wanting to increase calories with no BG impact. Oily fish, nuts, seeds, olive oil etc can all help.
