Hi @markwalley and welcome to the forum. Easy to say I know, but there is no need to panic. Diabetes is manageable and if you read around the forum you will find that most people who contribute here have found a way to do that. We can help you work out what might work for you.

How did you get to end up in A&E? Did you get the blood glucose test results which led to the diagnosis?

Welcome to the forum @markwalley

Happy New Year to you! What a bombshell to start the year with. Had you been having symptoms for long, or did it come out of the blue?

I guess choosing 1st Jan is one way of making your ‘diaversary’ easy to remember 🙂

It is perfectly natural to feel a bit overwhelmed by a diagnosis like diabetes, but try not to worry. Diabetes is potentially serious, but it’s also a condition that can usually be managed well with a few adaptations and changes to diet and lifestyle, and any meds that may be needed to support your metabolism. It is something you can learn to live well with, and shouldn‘t stop you from doing things you enjoy.

Slightly unusual to have a diagnosis of T2 come about via ‘urgent care’ - were you in for something else? Have you been unintentionally losing weight?

The 1st Jan was the day i got told by the Hospital of my blood results this is why i using this date for me to remember and yes it is easy to remember my sugar level was very high it was at 118 and my other test were very high this might be the reason why i was called to urgent care.
