Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi, I'm type 1 diabetic, have been since aged 6.
I've never really been able to control my blood sugar levels very well, and it's been hard for the past couple years as I've been moving up and down the country due to uni and work.
Any help and advice would be great or anyone who's in the same boat to talk to 🙂

I've never been introduced to any carb counting courses, so thank you for attaching the link 🙂

Most NHS areas have their own specific courses for same - what health authority do you come under @J0ycelyn - it's possible someone else on the forum lives near-ish to you and knows what's available there?

Welcome to the forum @J0ycelyn

If a full course feels a bit overwhelming, there’s a basic introduction to carb counting here

Diabetes can be hard to get to behave, bit it is something that can be managed, more or less, most of the time.

It can really help to have a combination of theoretical knowledge and ‘rules of thumb’ but also individual experience of what works for you. And also to be open to learning, and relearning approaches and strategies as your diabetes merrily changes the rules as it goes along.

Good luck, and keep asking questions 🙂

Welcome to the forum. Joining in here is a great place to start, as there is loads of experience and great tips and we are all still learning. Type 1 can be difficult to keep on top of when you are moving areas and doing new things.
