Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I am type 2 tablet uncontrolled! For past three days I've been struggling to get under 19.9. I had no carbs eating salad. Recently went into hospital with heart failure through taking (prescribed by GP) Piotoglitazone in large quantities. So have lost faith in GP. Do I need to call 111 or fiddle with gliclizide to bring it down?

Hello @Sherrilyn Blairs

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time with your diabetes at the moment. That does sound as if the medications you are on are not working well for you.

How long have you been diagnosed? And how quickly have things changed and progressed for you?

Do you have any diabetes of any type in your family? or does a yone have an autoimmune condition?

Are you or have you been taking steroids?

You may want to consider calling NHS111 if your BG levels continue to be so elevated as you are already cutting back to very low carbs, so you don’t seem to have much room for manoeuvre!

You're better off talking to medical people before changing your medication. How long have you been on gliclizide?
