Hi everyone, I am new to this site and delighted I found it. I am seeing alot of posts here about 'carb counting'! Can anyone help me here, it sounds great. I am always guessing how much insulin to take and having a little trouble getting a balance these days. For long enough I had great control. My HbA1c is creeping up!!! Thanks

Hi Gerry, and welcome! How long have you been diagnosed? You should ask your care team - nurse or consultant - if there is a DAFNE course or some similar kind of education course run locally. This will teach you how to carb count and make kepping those sugars under control so much better! 🙂

thanks

I was diagnosed 6years ago but have since moved from Scotland to Ireland. In Scotland I had the best care team ever but there does not seem to be the same support here, every 3months I get check up at hospital but you are in and out in no time but I will definitely ask the consultant. I inject 4times daily. I will need to look into the DAFNE thing your talking about. Thanks.

Thank you very much I will have a look at these sites now and give it a go. Will let you know how I get on.
