Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi , my first time on the forum.

I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes some two years ago, and prescribed Metformin.

Recently I’ve noticed that I have needed to go to the loo more often. Is this a worrying trait I wonder?

I have a routine check-up with the diabetic nurse in a couple of weeks but, wondered if this was a concern.

Welcome to the forum, silverback. Are you peeing or pooing more or both? In any case, worth discussing with GP.

Welcome - I'm very new too.

Peeing more is definitely something you should mention at your next consultation. It was that, combined with increasing thirst, which got my alarm bells ringing (quite rightly)

Thank you all for the welcome.

To summarise yes, increase in peeing but, not an increasing thirst. (which was my original concern that got me diagnosed with type 2 a couple of years ago,)

I will certainly bring it up at my forthcoming check-up.
having a blood test too so that will show any concerns I guess.

I have had 2 urine infections in the last few months and both times one of my first symptoms was needing to pass urine every couple of hours stopping me sleeping properly,I rarely normal go to the loo at night.

Welcome to the forum Silverback - love your Avatar!
