Hi Sharron, sorry to hear about your health problems, but it's good to see that you are determined to tackle diabetes and get things under control 🙂 Are you on any medication for your diabetes? Can I suggest having a read of Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter - these should give you a good understanding of the right way to approach things.Thank you for your kind words, today is the 1st day in months ive not had sugar today its been two years since diagnosed and due to diabetes I've been diagnosed with heart disease and background retinopathy in this time, been ill the last year with angina and turned to my weakness sugar, but have to stop before I get diagnosed with anything else, glad I found you all
Thank you, I've done it before, I will do it againWelcome & well done for keeping off that nasty white stuff. Keep going 🙂

It can be surprising how quickly you can lose your sweet tooth, and you don't have to give things up completely. Have you tried dark chocolate, with a high cocoa content? Look for chocolate that says 70%, 80% or even 90% cocoa - this has far less sugar in it, but can still give you a treat and stop you craving other things 🙂 Also, bear in mind that it is not just sugar that will raise your blood glucose levels - any carbohydrate will do the same. So, be careful with bread, potatoes, rice and pasta. Where you can, try and make substitutions e.g.less potato and more green veg. Writing a food diary can help you to identify where you might be able to make changes that will help with your blood glucose control and make you feel healthier 🙂 Please ask any questions you may have about things that might be good or bad - loads of people here are always coming up with things that you can eat without them affecting your levels too much, or sometimes not at all! 🙂
43 is lower than mine.
