Hello,

I'm 22 and I've had Type 1 diabetes since I was 5.

Been off work this week with a virus/flu thing all week so have had lots of time on my hands to search the internet. Came across this forum through the 'Mylife' section on Diabetesuk website.

So...hello all, hope you're all feeling better than me today!

🙂

hi flower im 26 and t2,im sorry you have had a bad week hope you feel alot better soon

Hi Flower, welcome to the forum!🙂 And well done on finding the alo=most 'hidden' link on DUK's website! We have a few members around your age and length of diagnosis, so I'm sure you'll have plenty in common. Hope you're feeling better soon!🙂

Thanks 🙂

I'm hoping I will be better soon too. Had a very frustrating chat with a GP earlier (I've recently moved house and therefore changed surgeries) who wanted to blame everything on my diabetes!! So frustrating!!

I've been struggling with this illness for 6 days and yesterday after some non-strenious tidying, felt like I'd been run over by a bus! Temperature was back up and I was in bed by 7pm. He seemed to think this was due to my blood sugar! (Which I know it wasn't). He was highly unhelpful and unsympathetic!

Anyone else have problems with GPs?

Sorry for the moan! 😱

Flower, sadly it seems that some GPs know next to nothing where diabetes is concerned, which I think is shameful. Trust your own feelings and experience and don't be afraid to challenge them or ask for a second opinion - you are the expert on your diabetes!🙂

Hi Flower (sounds weird saying that and I don't know you!!)

Glad you've found this place it's a god send, well a great place at the very least for serious stuff or rants!

Welcome aboard!

Hi Flower, welcome to the forum, it's a lovely helpful place full of lovely helpful people!!

It's also a great place to have a rant or a moan - have a browse around, you'll soon find there are plenty of members who have issues with their GP!! (or nurse, or pharmacist, or consultant, or hospital, or ............... :D )

Hope you're feeling better soon.

xx
