I just put that on here as talking about bananas and not eating them, my doctor said I have to as my potassium is very low
 
You can cut trans fats and sodium out of your diet but it will not do anything to improve your diabetes unless you make other changes like reducing carbs and losing weight, which will both have the most significant impact.

Cutting too much sodium out of your diet can be detrimental but ingesting too much can increase BP (Blood Pressure), so there is a balance to be found. I don't think too much sodium has any impact on causing diabetes. Certainly not seen that discussed here on the forum at all.
