Hello

Hello everyone
Welcome to the forum. Would you like to say a bit about how you manage your condition, are you taking any medication or just dietary managed. I'm sure you will be able to pick up a few tips by reading some of the threads. Do ask any questions you may have and people will be all too willing to help.

Hello to you @Grandmum and welcome to the forum from me as well... 🙂

Welcome to the forum 🙂

Was there anything in particular about your diabetes that prompted you to join?

Feel free to fire away with any questions you may have - we have literally centuries of lived experience on the forum, and lots of different people finding a combination of approaches and strategies that work for them. No question will be considered too obvious or ‘silly’ 🙂

Yes just to learn what others experience and that I am not alone

That’s one of the great things about the forum. Diabetes can be quite isolating, and it’s really helpful to have a space to be able to share the daily frustrations, worries, struggles, and of course the successes. Having people around who instrinctively ‘get it’ and are facing the same challenges every day is a powerful thing.

Hello @Grandmum. No rush, but do follow sound advice and not just any old thing. I am just coasting at the moment while I decide what to do next. I followed the Freshwell app and decided the intermittent fasting looked like it was easy to do. It took a while to decide what I wanted to do, there wasn't any instant magic wand solution. Since then I'm losing about 1kg a month, which my arthritis is going to be thankful about, I am a lot more mobile on my feet already. I brought my glucose levels down at the same time. Ultimately it was easy to do, Maybe my next step will be harder, who knows.

Hello @Grandmum, welcome to the forum 🙂 . I'm hoping that you won't feel quite so alone now as there are plenty of friendly members more than willing to share experiences and provide support

And a warm welcome from me to. It's good to connect with others living with diabetes on this forum.
I found it very helpful and supportive over the last year as I was getting to grips with all the information.
It's a friendly forum and there are threads which don't directly relate to diabetes if you just want to join in a conversation.
