Welcome to the forum.
Many people who are diagnosed are prescribed mediation and sent away with no dietary advice or advice which is outdated and their GP or nurses fail to realise how important diet can be.
Metformin only helps the body use the insulin it produces more effectively and reduces the release of glucose by the liver, it does not magically remove the carbohydrates from the foods you eat and it is all carb that convert to glucose.
Many find that by following a low carb approach it will be successful at reducing blood glucose and losing weight. This link will point you in such an approach, it is based on the suggested no more than 130g carbs not just sugar per day as a good starting point. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/

Sorry to hear you didn’t get on with Mounjaro

How have things been going over the last 3 years? Can you remember your most recent HbA1c?

Is there anything in particular you are finding frustrating or difficult at the moment, with your diabetes management?
