Watch out for low calorie diets though - I was put on really low-calorie, low-fat diets and my energy levels just collapsed, I looked and felt like death, and weightloss was really slow.
Rather than finishing my day's work half an hour early I needed to stay almost half an hour late and take a bus rather than walk. It was very counter intuitive to the GP directing me to lose weight.
