if you are type 2 can you get peripheral artery disease at young age
Hi Sean - AFAIK, PAD is something which normally get diagnosed when you're in yr 60's, unless you have T2D, in which case things shift younger. Depends also on whether/how much you smoke. So I used to smoke a whole lot and I was diagnosed with PAD at the same time as T2D, when I was 57. I think I've heard of some cases where diagnosis happened as young as 45 or so, but I think I was more typical for a T2D.

Do you think you have PAD? What kinds of symptoms? It's a really easy diagnosis for a knowledgeable doctor to make, if you want to get it checked out. This has a good summary: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/peripheral-arterial-disease-pad/

EDIT: On a quick search, apparently "Premature PAD" is a recognised thing, defined as PAD before the age of 50. See eg https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2726566/

Premature peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is the onset of peripheral arterial occlusion before the age of 50 years. Its prevalence is rare (less than 1% of the population), with most of those affected falling between 30 to 49 years of age (1). The onset of PAD before 25 years of age is extremely rare and there have been no epidemiological studies characterizing its prevalence

It's really something to check out with yr doc, but like it says, chances of it being PAD rather than something else are probably really small.
