What’s the best drink to avoid glucose spikes? I usually choose Soda and Lime but is that a good choice? What else could I drink when in bars and restaurants?

that depends if its is diet or sugar free lime 🙂

Just go with the known if you are unsure eg diet coke/fanta/irn bru etc or a sparling water.

Thank you
If you want an alcoholic drink then spirts with diet mixer or dry white or red wine are not too bad. Liqueurs, beers, cider are quite high carb though I think there are now some low carb beers.

Yes. As has been said, diet mixers or Pepsi Max etc that state zero carbs but beware Alcohol Free beers and lager. They have more than the normal stuff.

Was at function last weekend & had to drive, just drank diet coke throughout.
I’m usually the driver so just looking for some drinks that will fit in with the lifestyle changes I’ll have to make. I hate diet anything though as they always taste synthetic to me.

Lime and soda from a pub shoots my blood sugar up, because there’s usually sugar in the lime. I don’t drink so Diet Coke or water are usually safest options for me when out.

Diet Coke or water

Me too… (if I’m driving!)

Odd that diet Coke is pretty much the only diet soft drink that is regularly on offer. You almost never get diet lemonade anywhere!

Some places (not pubs but some fast food) now do tango sugar free, amazing to have a choice that isn’t Coke
