Hello, I'm newly diagnosed diabetic? ‍♀️

New th this, only told yesterday that I'm diabetic. I'm well controlled at present so no meds required but do I need to tell anyone like the dvla or anyone else? Thanks x

Hi Positivepup. If you are not on any potentially hypo inducing meds then there is no need to tell the DVLA.

Hi Welcome. I'm not sure if you need to tell you car insurers, it won't do any harm to let them know, life insurance may well need to know .

Hi Pup, how did you come to be diagnosed? I'm a bit confused that you say you're well controlled if you were only told yesterday and wonder what advice you've been given?

I would certainly tell the car insurance. I tell them everything just in case.
