Presumably the result is 52mmol/mol HbA1c? Non diabetic range is usually considered to be 20 to 41, and most for people with diabetes should aim for below 48 and those at higher risk of hypoglycaemia should aim for below 59. So, 52 does indicate a diagnosis of diabetes. Have you had any symptoms? Do yoiu have blood relatives with diabetes? What prompted the blood test?
The type of treatment depends on history and personal circumstances. Assuming you're an adult, then the treatment usually tries diet [reducing sugar and carbohydrates in general] & exercise [increasing walking etc, not gym etc unless that's what you enjoy] first, plus reducing weight if you're overweight, then adds oral medication [usually metformin first] if needed, and adds injected medications or insulin if needed.
