I was diagnosed in November 2016 but am not on any medication at the moment. I have been advised to change my diet and lifestyle but can't seem to cut down on carbs I really don't know where to start. Is there any help on here with diet?

Welcome to the forum, Hitch8. As Grovesy says, reducing portion size can be very effective. You may want to replace carbohydrate with vegetables - preferably veg that grows above ground. Are you also increasing physical activity?

I like cauli & brocolli & green beans so will try more of these. My main problem is packed lunches for work I don't know what to substitute sandwiches for

I struggle still with my lunches but I have access to a microwave in work so take leftovers. Also following tips from this forum bought protein bread rolls from Lidl bakery - you will find them with other freshly baked rolls. They have approx. 10g carbs per roll. I fill with chicken/egg mayo/sausage (high meat content) etc. If I'm home I put in Panini machine or slice and make pizza from them. They are very filling and one does me. I often go and look and see what's on offer in staff canteen and may have curry/chilli with no rice or a chicken 1/4 with veg.
