- At risk of diabetes
Hello Folks - Just joined and looking for some help and pointers - as I am very scared but trying to remain plucky.
Quick Question I may call on your help and experience ...I had a A1C result of 34 a few months ago, before that it was 36. -
But most recently - Neurophysiologist confirmed sensory nerve damage in my feet and said ..." your diabetic.." I said, i wasnt and told of normal Blood glucose and A1c tests ...Then she said - "...well you might have a shed load of vitamin deficiencies...? :-0 I am checking the latter out.
I am 61, previouly long distance walker, once a week 5K runner type - good diet - wine on Friday - Sunday only - Jan Dry and Sept Dry.
But I have some symptoms that do map to diabetes. They began two years ago:
1st - 2021 - dual tennis elbows / ache at night / great fatigue ALL the time - dont play tennis golf or hockey or use keyboard.
2nd - 2021- burning hands / tingling hands / worse at night
3rd - 2022 - dual trigger finger - helped by steriods injection
4th - 2022 - Tinnitus - continous high pitched
5th - 2022 - Tingling/Numb Toes and soles of feet
6th - 2022 - Nerve damage in both feet - Dec 2022
No thirst, no weight gain or weight loss, no vision changes, no huge appetite. But I do pee for England like 20 times a day and have 3 cousins who are Type 2.
So, my question is...are there any other Diabetes tests i could take to rule this cause out..?
All help and advice very appreciated. As I am worried sick. My GP is still nice but has become ..Dr Dolittle.. and is suggesting I " live with it " but i see things getting worse not better. Thanks good people.
