Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi all. I am new to this website, although I am certainly not new to diabetes. I am very involved with my local Diabetes UK Voluntary Group (on the committee).

I have had Type 1 diabetes for 32 years and like everyone else, at times I get really cheesed off with it all. I'm on 4 injections a day and have been for many years.

After all these years I still love to eat all the 'naughty' things 😉 lol

Recently, I went on a wheat-free, g;uten-free diet for another health reason and found that the low-carb diet was so beneficial - my sugar levels were so much better - stable over a long period. Trouble is, the moment it proved non-effective for the other reason, I went right back to all those delicious carbs! Arghh!

Looking forward to some chats on here ...

Carole

Hi Carole, welcome to the forum 🙂 We have quite a few members with a few decades of experience (in the nicest possible way!), so feel free to discuss boiling syringes and scraping rust off 6 inch needles! 😉 :D
