Welcome @Gerrie 🙂

Are you on any medication for your neuropathy?

I’ve read about supplements because a relative had issues. They didn’t have diabetes but did have neuropathy in their feet. They took Alpha Lipoic Acid, Benfotiamine (I might have spelt that slightly wrong), folic acid and B12.

Welcome to the forum @Gerrie . Sorry to hear about the onset of neuropathy.
What has led to the neuropathy? It is not always linked to Diabetes.

How do you manage your diabetes? Are you using multiple daily injections or on a pump.
Have you been offered access to Libre sensors?

I was diagnosed with T1 12 years ago and I have learnt most of the practical tips about my management from others on here. Fire away with any questions that you have.

Welcome to the forum @Gerrie

Sorry to hear about your neuropathy :(

We had a young female T1 member almost a decade ago whose experiece of neuropathy has always stuck with me. She often commented how the discomfort was made much worse and could be ‘triggered’ by erratic and/or elevated BG levels.

Hope you find a supplement that helps (if there is reliable evidence for efficacy - do be careful about expensive supplements that promise the earth and only deliver a big hole in your bank balance!)

In the meantime is there anything we can help with your day-to-day BG juggling and pancreas impersonation duties?

What insulins / delivery method do you use? Have you tried Libre?
Or a fancy bolus calculating meter? Do you carb count? Exercise? Have you ever tried to go on a diabetes education course or just muddled along on your own?
