Thank you Northerner wish i found this site earlier very helpful and interesting reading for me, i will post my brief story here shortly.

I am a type 2, since January of this year and have managed to control the sugar levels until 2-3 weeks ago, i have changed nothing in what i eat and was disturbed going from 5.0-6.8 to around 11.2 and beyond, last night was weird i use codefree to check levels and for the first time it went to H1 level and i did feel very rough so i went to bed woke up and pre food/drink tested again and for the first time in 2 weeks im back to 5.1 which i don't understand as i still dont feel right today in fact i feel worse. So my question is any ideas why i can go from H1 to 5.1 over night is that normal?

Welcome Plumpton. Don't sit still to long. I always keep moving & even on my days off (not many) I am doing something. Good luck 🙂

I'd suspect a faulty test strip - rare, but it does happen. If I get something that looks totally at odds with what I normally see, I retest 🙂

Thanks Hobie, well i walk 30 minutes everyday managed to buy a 2nd hand machine, i have lost 6 stone since January very hard but i have gone from 130kg to 90 and intend losing another 5kg, it is just the last two weeks im feeling awful and the levels worried me my diet isnt the greatest (picker eater) but it worked in the beginning keeping levels normal ( even doc said these are normal and was pleased) and now these are haywire apart from the this morning just a bit worried i guess will call them tomorrow if these are haywire again after eating today, thanks for the encouragement appreciated and GL to you

Thanks i will do after my lunch, but i felt very wobbly and just generally awful last night.
What were the circumstances of your diagnosis? Had you been suffering symptoms or was it tested for along with other things?

I was tested for a few other things as well, last year they tested and i was normal only this year when they did again (January) was it found that i have type 2. I have been also diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, although the arthritis part there still unsure about i have aches and pains like anyone would at 56 but not in the way there saying a normal arthritic person would so that's on going. I was at the docs last week because of the high levels and they said up the metformin to 3 and she didnt think it was an infection i actually do so i think i will go back, im not one of these people who unfortunately suffer from stress.
