Thanks both. Yeah, I've been working on the theory of eliminating carbs completely, but for me, things like potatoes and noodles would feature in every evening meal. If I can't eliminate I'll just have to reduce.

As for high carb diabetes books, what's that all about?! Lol!
I would have expected there to be one book, "the diabetes bible" on nutrition and recipes. Quite surprised.
I'll definitely check out those websites, thanks!

It used to be the case, early to mid twentieth century, when people with diabetes stuck to a low carb diet, and it worked. Then came the notorious research that decided that all fat led to heart disease. Therefore, diabetics, who are more prone to heart disease, were told to eat carbs instead. Guess what, it didn't work! Fats are now being rehabilitated, and low carb diets are coming back into favour, but you still get some dieticians who did their training in the 'fat is evil' era, who recommend a low fat high carb diet.
