'I am a newbie here. I have type2 diabetes and have just been prescripted a Libre 2 monitor. However I keep getting a “scan error” and “signal loss”, so I need to reboot my phone continuously. Anyone else had this problem?

Hi Stephen, please see my recent thread in the ‘Pumping & Technology’ section. I have 40 years experience being Type 1 and have also recently encountered problems with my Libre 2 system;

Scan error means it’s trying to scan something, either you’re trying to scan your sensor and not putting your phone in the right place, or you have something else with NFC near the phone eg a bank card that needs moving away.

Signal loss error you can turn off in the settings.

A new, and unexpected, data point. Upthread I complained about how the sensors needed to be scanned to get a reading. Last Monday evening I started a new sensor, no change. Yesterday (7 days later) I saw there was an update for my Samsung 14 (to November 24). Plugged the phone in to charge and ran the update. Came back an hour or more later when fully charged. Opened librelink and it showed a line of readings from a few minutes before, and continued to show a current reading. Two or three times during the noght when I woke up there were gaps or lost signal (I'd moved too far away), so I scanned. But in general it now coninues to talk to the sensor. Not sure if the librelink has updated at all, it is now on 2.12.0.11314, phone is SM-A145R on android 14.

Maybe you’re already aware but, it stores 8 hrs of data so you don’t need to scan every time there’s a gap, just once every 8 hrs will fill them in

I wish it was that easy, I’ve tried all the simple options you listed.
I purposefully keep away from any other NFC sources. E.g. all bank cards are away from the phone for the potential NFC interference they can cause.
The reader I have just been sent detected a sensor instantly - therefore confirming there is a problem with the iOS update and / or the LibreLink App.

The original poster who is asking the question is new to libre and may not have tried these simple things
