Well - I had a Hba1c of 91 in late 2016 and it was just on normal by mid 2017, having got my glucose levels down by eating a low carb diet.

Well done you . Since been diagnosed my anxiety has got worse and I suffer from agrophobia

Welcome to the forum. A bit more information about your diagnosis would help people tailor their advice and suggestions. So a few questions, how long have you been diagnosed, what was your HbA1C that has given you the diagnosis, have you been given any medications and do you have weight to lose and the last one, were you given any advice about dietary changes you need to make.
Depending where you are in the diabetes zone will determine how much you will need to do, so where you are starting from is relevant.
Sorry for the third degree but it does affect any advice that people give.
Learning as much as you can about the condition will stand you in good stead in being able to make changes which will bring down your glucose levels.
Have a look at the Learning Zone (orange tab at the top) and work through the information for Type 2. Do come back with any questions you have.

Yes, it is possible for some. Have a read of many of the T2 posts. Their approach may not suit you or even be effective for you, but have a read anyway.

My approach was low carb, higher fat, higher protein and weight loss.

Welcome to the forum @hayleyrules

Sorry to hear how difficult you have found your diagnosis, and how it has affected your anxiety :(

Diabetes is a serious condition, but it’s also one that can usually be managed well with a few changes and adaptations - it’s something that you can learn to live well with, and it shouldn’t stop you doing things you enjoy.

Many people on the forum later reflect that their diagnosis became a catalyst which prompted them to make positive changes towards a healthier life. Perhaps changes that they had been intending to make for years. Plus the regular checks and screening mean any potential issues can be spotted earlier and addressed more quickly 🙂

Have you been given any meds for your diabetes? Have you had a follow-up appointment since Feb? How are things going?

I'm type 2 ,can you reverse it
Yes look at type 2 remission on this website and people have posted that they’ve been successful. I just noticed I’ve lost 10% of my body weight since June on my slimming website last Saturday and blood glucose levels have improved. It says if I lose 15% body weight I can go into remission. Dont be scared. You’ve got work to do on yourself and you have a challenge to fight. I do not know if you’re overweight or not but the weight loss group is very supportive. I hope you can relax a bit as it doesn't help when we’re anxious And takes our energy.
