Sunday there it was 30c and I still feel the burn. Yup you've guessed it I got roasted and I took precautions as well still got burnt though.
So I've been resting as I took a nasty dizzy turn. Hubby thought sun stroke/heat. My sugars went to low as well at 2.3 I do not remember a thing other than being at the dog show and then in hospital. I was tested at the hospital.
I have now for emergencies only, jelly babies and cola all hidden away of course as a just in case I hypo again. They are also in the dog van and in the car too. Doc said it was because I was running around and dehydrated and I thought I'd drank loads he did say I should of doubled it because of the heat. A fair few in the dog show world didn't know I was diabetic it's not something I broadcast is it? So loads of supportive messages have come through, I frightened the c**p out of some of them I think.
I also have sunblock not cream as I have been warned no more out in the baking heat. Aloe Vera for the sore bits and they are still sore.
I haven't been out since Sunday and going stir crazy but I know I've to heal.
My levels now have been all over the shop but that's more to do with the pain I'm in too.
Not recommended folks.

Aw, very sorry to hear this :( I usually find the heat makes it very difficult for me to estimate my insulin doses as it becomes a major factor - I usually underestimate and end up having to eat far more than I expect just to keep my levels up. Anyone can have a hypo, even if you are not on medication - a friend of mine has them quite often when she hasn't eaten/drunk enough and has been running around - the various factors can overwhelm our body's ability to cope if driven far enough. You can also be deceived by mistaking the hypo symptoms for other things.

Hope you feel much better very soon! {{{HUGS}}} (But taking care not to hug too tight where it hurts! 😱) 🙂

Thank you.
I've learnt my lesson now not to repeat if I can help it.

I'm not a heat fan either Dolly. Hope you feel much better soon and the ouch heals! 😳

Sorry to hear about this Dolly, I hope you are feeling better and your burnt bits heal OK. As a seasoned hypoer keep your hypo correction close to hand xx

Do you live alone or with someone you don't mind seeing you in the nude? - I'm being serious here by the way LOL

If you have someone else, shower under gentle warm water, throw a towel round you and just get rid of the actual flowing water then lie flat on the bed on a dry towel and get the other to apply the aloe vera to whichever side is uppermost (every millimetre of you) then immediately roll over the other way and get them to do the other side - then REST. It will rehydrate (and therefore, soothe) your skin far, FAR better than drying yourself properly before you apply it - but it will take quite a lot longer to sink in so you can get dressed again.

The latter bit always applies to body lotion and face moisturizer alike whatever the weather!

Oh I've done all that and I have a husband who applied it too. My skin is on fire still after 5 days. I'm surprised I wasn't kept in hospital but I was send home on strict instructions to rest Which I have done but going stir crazy now. I'm now pottering about but nothing strenuous as I heal.

Thanks guys x

What are you on for the inflammation/pain Dollypolly?

Ibuprofen they gave me

Sorry to hear this Dolly, hope you soon heal and feel better x

Hope you're feeling cooler now...

Ib. sounds right - anti inflammatory as well as pain relief.

Is it calming down a bit by now?

I'm peeling now so I've moulted really o_O . I'm still warm to the touch on shoulder blades and top of back near my neck.

I do the Aloe Vera every couple of hours to what I can reach and after my shower nightly husband god bless him does my back and neck area and gently as it hurts to touch even now it bloody hurts in bits.

Levels where ok yesterday but today's morning one was highish. Rest of the day they've been good. No under 4s anymore thank goodness.

I wondered how badly you'd peel, are you vacuuming the bed in the morning? LOL

Not that bad yet but getting there lol!!!!!
