i did something i was proud of today I actually managed to get on a bus into the city. nipped into shop to put some money onto my credit card. Then walked down to taxi rank felt a bit funny kind of collapsed into the back of cab, thank goodness it was one of the drivers i know Dave he knows im diabetic, his oh is as well. he took one look at me and told me to drink his can of fizzy. got indoors and bs was 1.8 its now 4.2 and i have chucked up a couple of times. I have never known my bs to sink that fast without warning that was scary

Hi Gail sorry to hear that, that's really scary!

If you've been sick, please keep eating or drinking something - you might keep dropping if you've just thrown up whatever glucose you'd had.

Keep testing 🙂

Wise words from Shiv there! Glad the taxi driver recognised the signs and helped you out 🙂 And very well done on your trip out! 🙂

Dear gail I'm so glad you got home safely. 1.8 is very low and this incredibly hot weather wont be helping much.

Well done on your short outing this morning, you are going from strenght to strenght, give yourself a pat on the back gail. Well done:D ( hope you are feeling better now) Lots of love Sheena xxxx

Well done forbgetting out and about, what a super taxi driver 🙂

Great story, Gail. Glad you got on bus, did what you needed in town and got home safely, with a star of a taxi driver. Hope you give him a can of drink next time to see him 🙂

It's all too easy to get dehydrated in this heat - I needed to stop 3 times during 186 miles drive yesterday, each time downing 500ml diet coke for caffeine (due to not much sleep on Sat night) & fluid, and was home for over an hour after downing a mug of tea and pint of squash before I needed a pee. No problems maintaining blood sugar, just maintaining hydration. I knew that I needed to reduce insulin by 25% and eat more to keep blood sugars level.

yesterday it was between 1.8 -5.2. Drunk plenty of liquid. Post hyper headache all last night and today. Feel hung over today have just measured bs and its 22.4 EEK. I feel like im having a bad hypo

Well done on the trip out Gail, that's a great achievement. Can't imagine what's caused the pogo effect though. Hope you feel better soon.
