Does anyone else have heart palpitations if their bsl goes high.. occasionally when ive eaten within an hour i feel my heart flutter. Check my level and its about 10-12.. told g.p checked my heart and said it can happen if your stressed also i'm on iron tablets since end of April so could be that?? its just only happens when i've eaten, has anyone else had a similar problem? xx

I get heart palpitations but i dont know why. ive been to the doctors and they did some tests, they said my thyroids were ok, but i didnt go back for more tests. The doctor suggested i didnt drink caffiene in order to rule that out but I did manage it!! So it could be high levels. I get them with lows sometimes.

thanx for that.. i get them too when level is going down xx

i used to get them until my levels became stable at the 4-7 range. they are never usually above this range for more than 1 or 2 reading a week. it is defo worth trying to keep your reading in the optimum range. however i do still sometimes get the palps when i get a fast dropping hypo.

Why did my doctor never suggest it could be my levels? grr! hehe, it's good to know.

I sometimes get palpatations, normally when I am stressed. When I am stressed I comfort eat so my sugars are up. How were you feeling when you noticed the palaptations?

In fact the palps were a pre curser to diabetes for me. I am now on tabs for the palps (and fast heart beat - in the 120's now back to 65 and I no longer feel ill)

Strangely I did not have high BP but that has come on since :(
