Just because I like them ... a comprehensive review and meta-analysis from November last year: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S175646462300467X
  • Chia intake may cause a significant reduction in blood pressure and lipid profile.
  • Chia intake did not affect weight, fat mass, glycemic indices, and inflammation.
  • Chia at 25 gr/day and longer than 10 weeks has a better effect on SBP.
  • Co-supplementation of Chia with other substances has a marginal effect on FBG.
But should also be noted that the studies included in the review were highly "heterogenous" (ie all over the shop) for many of the metrics, so maybe more suggestive rather than conclusive.

Anyone know where you can buy them? I’ve been to Waitrose ie a posh supermarket and weren’t in stock. In fairness it wasn’t a superstore but they’re certainly not in Aldi or Lidl either (no surprises there I imagine)

Tesco have them and so does Co-op. Health stores will have them too.

Remember they absorb a lot of water (which can happen inside your gut) so using them for stuff like chia pudding where they get a good soak first is good

Mine are from Lidl.
Maybe it is down to what the manager choses to stock.
I used to get milled mixed seeds, which included chia, for my bread making experiments from Lidl, and then suddenly they were no longer stocked.

I get mine at Sainsbury's and if I have a bowl of soup I stir in 25g.

Aldi, usually stocked with the nuts, jams etc. Holland and Barett. The Grape Seed.

The Grape Tree are good for all sorts of seeds, nuts etc. Mail order if you have no shops nearby.

I get mine from Lidl. They are with the big bags of nuts and dried apricots/prunes/figs. They do whole and milled chia. The whole are in a turquoise packet and the milled are a pinky red packet. I normally buy whole ones but I once bought milled ones and I didn't like them, they smelled a bit like cod liver oil, whereas the whole ones seem to be pretty tasteless and odourless which works best for me..... I still remember having to have a spoon of cod liver oil every morning when I was little and I don't have happy memories of it, so the slightest whiff puts me off. Whole ones are absolutely fine though.

That’s where I get mine. I sprinkle them on most foods not a huge amount .

Thanks folks. I’ve ended up buying a kilo bag from Amazon. Easy.
Bit late to respond I don’t overuse them but they can go with pretty much everything
