Well it wasn't the end to 2024 and the first nearly 2 weeks of 2025 I hoped for. I've had flu as in I can't do anything apart from ache, sneeze, cough and feel really poorly flu. I've had flu 3 times previously and ended up in hospital with pneumonia and various complications on 2 occasions but thank goodness not this time.

I always get quite freaked out when I'm unwell and nervous of my blood sugar sky rocketing along with ketones. Top award to my TSlim/Dex G7 HCL pump for doing a pretty good job of keeping me as stable as possible. My graphs are a bit spikey and my highs have been higher than standard time but in the main I've managed to keep myself ok despite not eating for a few days and T1 did not become a centre stage drama. The reliability of HCL has been great, thank goodness for tech. Phew

Really relieved to feel slightly more human again. Off to podiatry tomorrow as I had to cancel an appointment to check on my stubborn foot ulcer and need to check it hasn't got any worse whilst I've been ill. Fingers crossed.

Oh poor you, I hope you feel fully better soon. Glad to know your HCL was helping you out.

Poor you @Flower. Glad to hear you’re on the mend!

Oh noooooooo!

Really sorry to hear you’ve been struck down with the lurgy @Flower

Flu is an absolute monster :(

So glad to hear you’ve been feeling a little more human of late

@Flower I've only had flu once, as a child in the sixties. I felt awful, getting out of bed to go to the toilet was almost impossible, but I like to think it gave me lifetime immunity. However for the last few years I have had a flu jab as once was enough, I hope never to get it again.
Hope you soon feel better as it washes you out.

Glad to hear that you are recovering from the flu. It's a horrible illness that really drains you. Hope the rest of January is kinder to you.

Thank you all.

It does completely drain you, the thought of having to put proper clothes on tomorrow for podiatry is daunting- it might end up being a big coat over pyjamas!

I had both Covid & flu vaccines in October then got Covid in October & flu in December. I presume the vaccines limited how poorly I got & thankfully kept me from needing medical attention

No one better sneeze over me in the waiting room tomorrow!

Hope the podiatry appointment goes well @Flower

That sounds like you’ve had a rough few months with both covid and flu. I’m so glad you’re feeling a little better and that your pump coped well.

Do you have any masks? I tend to wear them in any medical setting, public transport or crowded place (I’m less good at wearing them day to day) and I’ve thankfully picked up fewer colds etc.

Thank you all.

Sorry to hear you have been so poorly @Flower. Very pleased that the HCL worked well through this. So much easier.
I hope that the podiatry appointment goes well. Take care.

Sorry to hear that, get well soon....
