A quick question.. had a few days to digest my diagnosis... one question... the doc said my reading was 9.1 for the 2 blood tests i had... she didn't say hba1c would this be the reading do you think? Ive seen some conversion graphs on line that say 9.1 converts to 76 does this sound about right? Also why are there 2 different rsults given?

Your doc is using old way of measuring the new way is the 76 . Some convert back to the old .
 
Cold be HbA1c. This is blood taken from the arm and you get the results later.
For me, this is the problem with just giving the figures like 9.1. Because you can get readings like that from a finger prick test and it's easy to get mixed up and confused.
As for 76, well diabetics can be anything from the 40's to over 100.
 
48 is the HbA1c figure which equals 'this person has diabetes'.
