OK HbA1c tomorrow- time to take a guess.......our track 6.3 6.6 6.8 so on the up! darn .......now if I was a betting gal....

OK, I give up. I'm an old (very old) type 1 diabetic. I didn't have the attention that most of you seem to get when I was living in the UK, my advice from diabetic 'specialists' was - keep taking the Mars bars! Since then, and thanks to the wonderful people on this site, I have learned of the advantages of Jelly Babies and the disadvantages of chocolate bars, of any description. What on earth is HbA1c? Thank you
 
Hi Michael if you go to the top of the screen next to the competition bit a full explanation of HbA1c is there -we have ours done every 3 months [H IS 17]
Adults are yearly I think

Thanks delb t - it's ONLY because I am pregnant !! I would never have achieved that level otherwise ..... Amazing how being pregnant can really give you a kick up the a**e ! 🙂 ....it's not about me anymore ...

Thanks - that was interesting reading. Twice a year I have here a blood and urine test and the doctor always tells me that a) I have a urine infection, b) My cholesterol is 'a bit high' and c) my diabetic control is 'very good'. I'll have to be satisfied with that but following my emergency admission to 2 hospitals earlier this month I am finally going to see a urologist on 30th October. Ain't looking forward to it but there you go.
