Had my 3 monthly one done on 3rd Jan.

My review with my DSN should be this Thursday 10th Jan.

On Friday 11th Jan I have an appointment with my GP for my recent high BP. My DSN referred me to the GP because it's only him who can up my dosage of the new/extra BP tablet I'm now on.

Yesterday afternoon I had a phone call (I didn't answer as I was busy so hub took the call) & apparently because I've got two appointments she's cancelled the one with herself and wants me to see the GP instead. Great but my blood results have shown up some slightly abnormal results. The DSN did say to hub it's nothing at all to worry about and that the GP is the best one to deal with this.

I phoned the surgery myself later and spoke to another nurse and was assured it's nothing to worry about it's just something slightly abnormal in my blood results.

Maybe I should just try and stay calm the next few days then do the worrying once I've got the results on Friday.

Try not to worry Gill, if they say it's something and nothing then it probably is 🙂 I always get a slightly abnormal liver function test result, but my GP isn't worried about it. Sometimes they just have a couple of questions to ask you to clarify why.

Good luck with your appointment! 🙂

Thanks for your speedy reply Northerner! Also thank you for wishing me good luck 🙂 Just really really..... dreading what it's going to be 😡.

You almost wish they hadn't said anything and then you could just find out once you are there and not be worrying about it. All the best with the appt, if it was urgent they would be getting you there straight away. Try not to worry, but I know it's hard. I'm a born worrier - got a degree in it! xx

A week or two ago when my blood results came in I had a phone call from the receptionist at the surgery saying "The Dr needs to speak to you urgently about your results, will you be in all day so he can phone?". Well, that was 11.45, by the time the Dr rang at 2.15 I had written my will. However all it was was a slightly high thyroid result. I reassured him that the endo knew about it and was happy with it. So I do understand how you feel, but stop WORRYING! It's probably nothing.

My 'slightly abnormal' results turned out to be a small electrolyte imbalance, caused by the fact that having lost weight I no longer need one of my BP drugs.

Then stop it! Really, Gill, it will be nothing 🙂

I PROMISE that I'll stop all my worrying about this.

Exactly! And thanks! Like you I'm also a born worrier - hey and I've also got a degree in it! lol

I said to my daughter last night to cross me off her christmas card list and I've also got myself down for a kidney transplant!
Glad you found out that it was nothing really.

I've just been put on my 2nd BP tablet about month ago.

One thing that was said was that I may need some of my medication changing.
I take:
Asacol (mesalazine) - ulcerative colitis
Ferrous Fumarate - iron
Folic Acid - iron
Citalopram - depression
Simvastatin -cholesterol
Ramipril - BP
Amlopodine - BP

Thanks anyway for all your kind replies 🙂.

I'll do no more worrying and I'll let you all know what the problem with my abnormal result is on Friday.

Best of luck for tomorrow; try not to worry - throwing you a big hug ((())) x

Hey Gill - can I ask you an unrelated Q seeing your list of meds, relating to summat they were talking about on the IP mailing list this week.?

Do you ever bleed or bruise when you jab?
