Well done! I have just joined the Forum and found your posts very encouraging.🙂

Thanks June. I was diagnosed whilst in hospital after a massive heart attack. I decided straight away that if I’m to enjoy my life (I’m 66) for an extended period I’d have to take responsibility for my own health. Most support services have all but ceased due to the Coronavirus so I’ve just knuckled down.

I’ve concentrated on the diabetes and am very happy to have fallen below the level that defines the disease. I’ll not lose sight of that but am now concentrating on my cardio health.

My objective is to remain healthy and active until I’m 80.

Henry

Well done @HenryBennett. That’s brilliant. Good for you! :D 😛:D

@annealex1 - it doesn't have an immediate effect - it starts to build up to full usefulness over a couple of weeks and you are advised to bear with it whilst it's doing so, cos the initial gastric side effects often start early on but as a couple of weeks pass, very often they die down and disappear again. At that point, all that's necessary is to keep the level of the drug in the body stable by just topping it up by another pill every day - not an additional dose, same dose every day. If you need to increase the dose at any time, the same thing with side effects can happen again to begin with.

It's not a drug you can just take sporadically like eg taking a paracetamol twice a year when you have a headache. Well you could do that but it wouldn't do you any good whatever so there's no point.

Thanks for that. I have noticed the side effects have eased a lot.
