I think you're a real star and those results are excellent! Well done Bubbsie. :D
Thank you Linda...not so sure about my 'star status' but I am pleased (and relieved) with that result...have a lovely weekend...off out to walk Harry...we have a small window of sunshine here...so while it lasts...going to ensure we make the most of it.

Congtratulations on the A1c drop @Bubbsie

Sorry to hear you were a bit disappointed in some of the results - we can only do our best. Keep chipping away at it... Like Northie says, slow and steady etc etc.

Congratulations on another drop. I can see from your signature you have other health issues/medications so be kind to yourself, you are doing very well. I finally picked up my cholesterol results yesterday and struggled to make sense of them. I need to raise my HDL which I believe will improve if I exercise more but as I've never had cholesterol test before I don't know if I'm going in the right direction

Only just seen this Bubbs - i know you are disappointed but that's a great result even if it's not as low as you had anticipated - nevertheless something for you to work on for your next HbA1c ? - You can and will achieve the number you're aiming for - keep up the good work - well done x

Thanks Grogg...happy with the HbA1c...and my total cholesterol has gone down...LDL (bad cholesterol) is still in the risk category...however the other two HDL & Triglycerides have improved and are now within normal range...so overall I have made improvement there...just waiting to see what the GP says at my review on Tuesday...I do exercise...nothing drastic...just lots of walking with the dog...do at least an hour to an hour and a half a day...it helps...no longer take any blood pressure meds either...stopped in January this year...BP still in normal range too.

Thanks WL...once I had time to think about it...not disappointed with HbA1c...looked at my previous numbers...gone down from17.4 at DX to an average of 6.4...so satisfied with that...just need to work on that cholesterol...it is lower than my last results...with HDL & Triglycerides now in normal range...just need to work on that LDL...which is still in the risk category...poor Harry will just have to do more walking.

Well done Bubsie, that result is a great achievement! xx

Well done love xxx

17.4 down to 6.4 is excellent Bubbsie :D - that shows your hard efforts since dx have paid off - very well done. Wonderful news too that your B/P meds were withdrawn in January & that since then you have kept your B/P in a good range. I have to say Bubbsie you must be congratulated for for achieving your latest results :D good on you x

Just catching up as I have not been here for a few days. Bubbsie I think that you have done brilliantly well and should be very proud of your achievement, congratulations. OK I fully understand your wish to do even better but it will come if you keep on as you are. There is a lot of controversy about cholesterol and its role in heart health. If you don't want statins and have made your choice don't have them. (Then you can have non-compliant on your notes just like me!) Take care and keep up your excellent work 🙂

It all sounds good to me Bubbsie, the cholesterol issue is such a bone of contention now even amongst the medical folk I wouldn't worry about it too much. Great work on the hba1c and blood pressure 🙂

Thanks Jangles...getting there...just not quite arrived yet:D:D:D.

Thanks KookyCat...pleased with the HbA1c results...while slightly concerned with the cholesterol...been reading up on it so ready for Ol' Dr Max Medication if he starts at review next week...understand the ratios (finally)...while the total cholesterol is slightly reduced but still high...trigs and HDL in normal range...so Statins are a no no this time.

Thanks happydog...ooh...would consider it a great honour to be labelled non-compliant (if he dare)...previously no idea about cholesterol...been reading upon it...so ready for a deep discussion with GP next week if the issue arises...overall been a reduction (albeit a small one) in total cholesterol...but still high...good news is HDL & triglycerides are both within normal range...so...will discuss those ratios...and no statins for me...have a good weekend.

Thanks WL...now if only your dam meter would arrive...I can relax!!!...have a good weekend.

Just found this. A drop of 20 since October is something to be proud of. I can totally understand being a bit disappointed at first when you get your result. With all the effort put in and the waiting for the magic number, it is always going to be something of an anti climax. I think it's great that you were a big disappointed as it shows you still want it. It still matters and you are motivated to keep going. For my money this is an even greater achievement.
Hope the chips were good 🙂
