Just had a call from the GP - my HbA1c has dropped to 47, I am so so pleased. I had a 3 week stint in hospital and lost 1.5 stone.

Stay safe. xx

Excellent news! Not sure I'd choose hospital as a way to lose 1.5 stone but it show that every cloud has that silver lining. You must be dead chuffed 🙂

Hope you’re feeling better @Billychick. Glad to hear your A1c has dropped. :D I can understand your loss of appetite when faced with hospital food. o_O

So pleased to hear this news. Keep on keeping on!!

I would like to ask if anyone can tell me how to get an estimated hba1c result from a 90 day blood glucose average from results. I really want to get an idea as I've had knee surgery postponed because my result at pre admission was too high. I've worked really hard over the past few weeks to reduce it by following a strict low carb diet. My blood sugar results have come down really substantially.

Fantastic news about your Hb1ac, you must be thrilled.

Sorry to hear you’ve been in hospital with Pneumonia, I hope you’re feeling much better now.

@Sparky, what meter do you have.

I use mySugr app and I also use a Libre. Both the app and Libre estmations do not come out near enough to the lab HBA1C. They are out by about 5-6 figures.

The image above will give you a rough idea. Its is a rough idea simply because your average blood glucose is an estimate and you do not know how good an estimate it is.

Great news @Billychick sorry you had pneumonia not nice is it?
Take care.
