Do we book these eye tests or do they come from the hospital?

It's always happened automatically for me. I assumed once my GP knew I was diabetic that somehow that lead me to be put on the list for such reviews.

But possibly it's more manual than that and it would be worth prodding your surgery if you haven't been invited? Just at the moment I think they're mostly on hold, so even if you're on the system you might not be offered an appointment for a while.

it depends on what your local Diabetic Screening Service does, I get the letter but the appointments are not in a hosptial, i have been to office buildings , pharmacy premises, and GP surgeries but not my own.

I had mine done in January... No idea what the circumstances will be by the time it comes around again!

I posted on another thread about how my GP has arranged a blood test, foot tickling etc for this Friday, after I emailed them some while back about my review which was due in May.

A friend had her retinal screening cancelled in April, and hasn't heard anything since, but mine isn't due until September so I'm hoping that by then things should be more normal.

I rang my surgery yesterday I could have booked a phone appointment with the nurse for review but I did not see the point, as I have not had any bloods so it is a bit pointless.
They are only doi g phone appointments with nurse for Asthma checks aswell.

My review was done with the DSN over the telephone without bloods. It was more based around how I was, discussing any issues I was experiencing and asking how I was going with the Libre. There want anything else we could discuss.

Well considering at the end of February, they wanted to see me in 3 months, and they no longer prescribe test strips, they have no way of knowing if I am or have the where with all to test. So in my case it is moot.

A bit different my end of the country.

Eye screening already done, feet are checked every six weeks still.
Any other problems are jumped on straight away especially big D ones.
They call my apartment the Surgery Bar.:D

I've just had a phone call about my eye check, to make appointment for August. It's at a local 'health centre', that has two GP practices (1 is mine) & several other things happening in it. It's usually in this building for me.

Just a phone call from Community diabetes team Dr first contact from them since December last year.So no blood test until September this year or any other tests that I used to get.If we get second wave this could be the end of diabetes care for years.Count myself lucky that I don’t have cancer.

Well I have just had what was meant to be my phone joint Diabetes and Asthma check. Well the Diabetes bit I need to go to the surgery next week for bloods, take urine for annual urine screen, and feet and blood pressure check. Followed with a phone appointment with the results the following week. I did query I needed physical things with Receptionist.
The Asthma bit went OK.
I have a medication phone review booked for Monday with the Practice Pharmaist.

Wow got a face to face appointment at the end of this month with the Community diabetic team.
