so now it's 80, or 9.5 in old terms. This makes me sad. I thought it was doing so much better.

Sorry to hear your results were not what you were expecting. Really frustrating.

It's just a suggestion/thought for you Amber......... when you say you thought you were doing so much better does that mean less hypo's? If so perhaps this is the reason as in artificially lower the last time due to lows.

Don't be despondent though make an action plan.
1 basal testing
2 testing two hours after meals
3 make sure you inject 30 mins before your meal thus no after meal spike.
4 write down your blood sugar results so it's right in front of you thus you can see exactly what is going on.
Jut a few simple changes could make one heck of a difference so come on chin up it's not the end of the world is it?

Sorry to hear its gone up Amberzak.

It's still lower than it ever was when I was on multiple injections so that's good.

Yes, far less hypos. So you're probably right pumpersue. I have been told not to inject until after I've eaten because I never know how much I'm going to eat. It's an ongoing problem for me.

Wirralass, exercise doesn't really work like that more me. I have to be so careful because if my sugars are going up, exercise just makes them higher.

I know what the problem is. Stress. While I have good stable sugars, when they do go high, they go very high.

Stress is a big influence for me too and I also go high when stressed or anxious.

This I suspect is your problem.
Could you go back in time a bit and set yourself a realistic amount that you know you will eat at meal times. So you can then have it set in stone that you will be eating that amount of carbs thus inject the 30 mins before needed so no spike. Obviously if still hungry then have something carb free to fill you up.

The problem that happened with me (and it's autistic related) is that I would plan to eat dinner. But then when my father in law brought it out, it would be too mushy or too slimy and I wouldn't eat it. Then I'd go hypo because I hadn't eaten the food I had injected for.

Yes there are certain foods I know I'm going to eat. McDonald's for example, or if I prepare my lunch. But I can't just make myself eat food that has dodgy texture, so evening meals are hard.

Well at least you can sort your lunch out, breakfast as well so that's a good starting point. Perhaps invent a super allergy so you can not eat FIL's meals.
Mind you if anyone can eat Mc D's then I'm surprised they can have problems with other foods lol
Other option is to make sure you have a cereal bar in your pocket to make up for missing carbs. Even though you are autistic you are a very cleaver lady so I'm sure you will manage to work out a system that you can cope with.

Ha. You've not tried my father in laws food. McDonald's is a gormet meal compared to his cooking.

Seriously though I'll just have the chips if I go to McDonald's. Being gluten free it's hard sometimes to find places (though getting easier thank god, as I'm so sick of McDonald's every time we are out.).

How about saying to yourself I'll just inject half what I'll need for the whole meal - or 25 or 10 percent, whatever - just so there is SOME upfront - which has surely GOT to be better than none? and adjust after, depending?
Now there's a good idea 🙂

Great idea. Yes. I'll do that. I know I'll eat at least some of the food.

Law' strewth! Not usually a 'good ideas' person - I bill myself as a' a great joiner-in' though, normally!
