Hello everyone - I am so excited

As you know I started late Feb this year taking insulin, after a year of ever rising blood glucose levels. Type 2

Just had a call from the DSN at the hospital

HbA1c down from 10.4 to 7.9

Yeah, I am so pleased, not perfect - but so much better.

Just had to share my news

Hazel

Well done Hazel! Great news! 🙂

Woohoo! Any drop is worth a celebration, but that's one HUGE drop! Well done! You must be so pleased :D

Well done, I don't even know what mine was. Note to self - must listen to nurse as she is rushing me out of the door.

Hi Hazel,

Thats brilliant...great drop....well done

hazel well done that is really brilliant news any lowering of the hbA is good

congrats x

Thank you all for kind wishes and I apologise to anyone who thought I was boasting - I was just so excited.

My long term aim is 6.0, but there is still a long way to go. But for only just over 3 months, 10.4 to 7.9, I am more than happy with.

I think only now I realise just how ill I was last year.

My sincere thanks to everyone on this forum who answered my many questions and of course to the fabulous team at Hairmyres Hospital here in East Kilbride, I don't know who was more excited this afternoon, me or the DSN Jill, when she 'phoned with the results.

This Friday, I attend a one to one mini DAFNE course pilotted at Hairmyres for Type 2s.

So things are really looking up - I may try the lottery this week, I seem to be on a roll.

My thanks again to everyone who has helped me on this journey.

thats great news, any courses are great as we get to learn so much more and I really enjoyed my course as you take the whole week, or however long your couse is and just focus on your diabetes without work/life getting in the way. let us know when you get on it.
