thank you - I have been using a Dexcom (self funded) I can't bear the finger pricking....but comments are made around "its a lifestyle disease etc and so it's my fault I have this - so i just dont want to eat at the best of times..
Goodness I am sorry to hear you are subject to those comments. How nasty. It is not necessarily the fault of the patient. I was listening to Alexander Van Tulliken the other day and he was talking about ultra processed foods and how that is causing a lot of health problems. I think personally it is unfair to blame the patient. I know lots of people who are diabetic and pre-diabetic. It is becoming more and more common.

It's really tough...I try not to tell people because as soon as you say diabetes they judge you.. !
Yes , I find it makes me feel like an outcast and got very low but unfortunately we can but change . one day i hope like obesity they understand its not always food in food out . Horrid .

I think because of my age they are thinking LADA

You’re in your 30s which would be a pretty common time to be diagnosed as a Type 1. It used to be thought to be a childhood condition but just as many adults as children are diagnosed with Type 1. The oldest person was in their 90s!

If they do the antibodies tests that would be useful.

Thank you..I am booked in for this next week sometime...
I have also had cold/flu twice now in the last few weeks... and funny enough increased appetite which when I was first diagnosed I didnt have...its an interesting maze to navigate....

I hate food too and I had to stop finger pricking due to my anxiety. I just do what I can
We are all have different ways of coping no way is best if its not good for you .

Hi everyone, I had some bloods done and my GP made the following comment on my notes: LADA; for DM team to review. So should I take this as a confirmation that I have LADA?

I’d say it doesn’t. It says the diabetes team to review your bloods.

How long is it since they were done?

No you should speak to the diabetes team about it, they’ll decide. Your GP is unlikely to have been able to do the tests to identify LADA
