Has anyone tried the Verio IQ meter?

Has anyone tried the ONetouch Verio IQ meter, and if so, does the pattern management really help with control?

I did ask for one of their free meters but they wouldn;t give me one because 'd had anther free model in the past, (which I didn't continue with because it was a bit clunky.)
 
Hi,

I got a free one from an advert on another forum, and although i like the metre, the case the finger stabber etc the pattern managment i feel is just a gimmick and dosnt really help :( if you could selct which meal the test was taken for or which meal after then it might be a bit more help. Mine threw up a low pattern the other day, one test was from a before breakfast reading and one a before lunch... not much use. You also arnt able to program it too set limits low and high for postprandrial tests so a bit of a let don for me. Ill try to stick to recognising patterns from my diary!
 
Well that's disappointing, when it first came out I did think it looked like a useful feature (cos I'm terrible at spotting anything until someone says eg 'Why are you going hypo at precisely 4.30pm every day?' LOL) which I might have liked if I hadn't already been pumping by then.

Benny, have you had a look at either the Insulinx or the Accu-Chek 'Expert' ? It sounds to me like you are just the sort of person to benefit from the various features thereof, although a lot of peeps just use em as a Bolus Wizard, which is a shame.

Have a look at Everdayupsanddowns Blog, cos he did an in depth review of the Expert on that and I'm also certain if you Google 'Insulinx' you'll come up with useful info, including on this and at least one other forum !

My DSN is literally trying to push me into using the expert. What other features does it have beside the bolus wizrd ones?

Its there for me if I want it so may give it until the new year, once I get my basel **** on!

Definatly a disapointment im afraid :(

Hi Runner,

Alex has tried it and like it.🙂But the Company werent helpful when I rang asking for a spare one. I explained we would like to try it for a week or so to see if he liked it - but they refused to send any more strips - but eventually caved in and sent a box of 25!!!!!!! They said we would have to show them we had changed to their strips before they would consider sending another one and even then they couldnt promise..😱All other companies always supply three or four - to keep at School and as spares without questioning it - so not impressed at all and probably wont bother changing the strips for it as they didnt come across as helpful at all. I doubt it would give us any more information than the pump and sensors anyway so its thier loss.🙂Bev
