I know that I have been a lot more relaxed about my diabetes. A good thing as I had previously set totally unrealistic expectations of myself.
Over the past 6 months I had widened my target levels on the Libre. I was expecting to get 70% within 4.5 - 7.5. My consultant persuaded me to change those to 4.5 to 9.5, and still aim for 70%. Initially when I achieved this I was telling myself, yes but that isn’t good as you have just made the target easier. I gradually managed to forget this, and simply be nicer to myself.
I had my HbA1c dine last week, after Christmas and also a month away on holiday, so not the most stable time. I was delighted when it came back at 50, having only gone up from 49. A lot less stress, much more content, and hardly any change in outcome.
Very happy with results and more relaxed than I have been for ages regarding Diabetes.
I vaguely remember an article referenced on her about avoiding the stress of trying to drive the HbA1c ever lower. I had got down to 44 but was then not happy as I put so much pressure on myself.
