Happy birthday @CliffH and hope you are having a lovely day xx

@CliffH we December birthdays should stick together. I was actually due end of January but I cannot imagine a January birthday. Hope the weather isn't too terrible and that you are able to celebrate Hogmanay.

People always commiserate with me for having a birthday so close to Christmas. However, as a kid I always got just as many presents as my siblings born at other times of the year - and my birthday always fell in the school holidays 🙂 I felt sorry for kids who had to go to school on their birthday. Now that I'm older, I'm pleased that my birthday often gets overlooked 😉.

It's been very rainy and windy all day: "blowing a hoolie", as they say here in Scotland. As a soft Londoner, I'm not really one for Hogmanay anyway: as a student I might have been in Trafalgar Square and having a drink - but not now that I'm over 30 :(.

Not been around much today but realised it is your birthday! Hope you had a good one @CliffH 🙂

Happy birthday Mr Funny Man!

I actually have a Scottish birth certificate having been born in Morayshire. I remember my English mother being shocked that Christmas was more or less ignored. It is far more extensive than an English one. I left when I was two. When I was born my parents were living in a flat in a converted stable block of a stately home. My Dad was a pilot in the Navy.

Well every Christmas one of my partner's sons buys me an 'Oor Wullie'/'Broons' annual, to help with my understanding of the Scottish language and culture.

Very belated birthday wishes @CliffH
Hope you are not getting too much snow in Scotland. Best curl up in a comfy chair with a nice whisky and The Broons annual :D
