I'm just about to go the vampire 🙂 6.7 beginning of this year. 6.9 in August when Mum was ill. I had real difficulty with my levels after my Mum died and I was then ill. Eventually had to increase basal lots night time levels are very erratic. I hope I'm wrong but my guess is that it will be in 7's but I'm not sure how high. All I do know is that I'm doing the best I can to control it.

Good luck. I go in end January mmm

Mine was already 7point something before I broke my kneecap with similar BG results to yours if not higher - and ketones in the high 2s for days on end and although my basal is now more or less right again my bolus ratio still isn't - correction after correctionbut as I can't predict how my BG will respond today or this evening whenever - sounds like we're both in the same boat at mo to me!

I've decided not to let it OVER bother me - cos worrying too much will only have a worse negative effect, won't it? Get my results at D clinic on Weds - if I can even get up the ramp to the ruddy front doors that day!

I'm waiting for mine too, after a difficult few months - should be able to collect them from surgery beginning of next week, then go to see endo later in week and am likely to need to persuade him/her (getting to see a locum I've not seen before and know nothing about, oh joy) to a) let me stay on Tresiba or move to Levemir, not go back to Lantus, b) get to borrow that CGM for which I've been on the waiting list for about 18 months, c) get a pump and d) try something other than Levothryoxine because I had to give up on that because of side effects.

Good luck Amanda, and Jenny ...

Thank you everyone. Northerner if the DF has told you correctly then I would be thrilled with 6.9 this time.
Jenny and Juliet I'm really sorry that you've both been having problems. Good luck with your results and appointments. Unfortunately since the gastroparesis diagnosis I've found that I've had to be my own consultant for sorting out my insulin levels/carbs, I don't think the medics have changed anything the whole time that I've been on the pump apart from a pump nurse once changing my target range from 5-7 to 5-8.

Good luck Carol.

I'm gonna have a guess at 7.1 with everything you've been through since the last one. Whatever the result I'm sure you will be fine. Sending you good wishes when you have the test.

I'm going for mine on Wednesday, will be interesting to see what the outcome is. I've generally been very strict on carbs for the last 3 months so really do hope it has made a difference.

hee hee Nick - that was exactly my intention after the last one (post a long holiday when I really hadn't been whatsoever disciplined) and came back and got on that road to Hell - the one paved with good intentions, we all know that route! In my defence it was a pure accident I got shoved off it!

Where do you think you are, Nick?

Good luck

What do you mean, in terms of numbers? I wouldn't really know, the practice don't always give me the figures. Just whether it's better or worse.

Certainly has to be better than last time though. As I say I've been pretty strict.

It really annoys me if they don't give me the actual numbers - I always ask, but feel I shouldn't have to. What do they think I would do because I know them? I find it personally condescending if they believe I wouldn't understand the import of something so fundamental to my health 🙄

Thank you Ljc and luck Nick.
Stitch your guess is what I'm thinking 🙂
I will be going online every hour tomorrow to see if my results are ready ;D

It’s a number not a score @AJLang. Hope you are happy with it, and it’s a lower number than you are expecting.

That's a mindset thing Mike - as you know we're involved with a prostate cancer 'support' charity and amongst our work arrange drop-in blood testing sessions on Saturday mornings. Some of our counterparts in other bits of the country seem to score success in how many 'positive' results their participants have, whereas the other Saturday's batch of chaps at ours only produced one such so we were disappointed - we'd rather test 1,000 men and get Nil !
