It?s that time again.

A bit later today I?ll be visiting my local vampire to make a donation. I?m expecting the results back on Tuesday morning (although I?ll probably try calling on Monday afternoon in any case).

My meter says that it?s 7-day, 14-day and 30-day averages are all 5.8 mmol/L ? although be warned that these reading are primarily fasting, bedtime and pre-meal (i.e., not many post-meals) and I've tested my (non-diabetic) wife a couple of times.

So who wants to take a guess at the hbA1c?

I'll go for 6.1% Mark, although I wouldn't be surprised if you are below 6! 🙂

Dear Mark,

I reckon 5.9

Regards Dodger

I'll stick with the 5.8!

I must say the phlebotomist who collects blood at my local surgery needs to receive the ?Golden Feather? award for having a very light touch. She was in and out before I?d even realised it.

I?m one of those who has been known to get queasy/faint at the sight of my own blood being drawn.

Well done for getting through the blood test then. I'm sure they should have an award for nurses who do a good job, I'm sure they don't get thanked enough by grateful people like us 🙂 I'm going for 5.7 because I want to go for below 6 and 5.9 and 5.8 have been taken! So I'm sticking my neck out and going for 5.7 :D

I'll say 6.1, although I won't be surprised if you're under 6 either.

My 30 day average on my meter was 6.3 prior to my HbA1c of 6.7 recently. For pretty much the same reasons as you, i.e. mainly fasting and pre meal readings. So based on that I'm going to have a guess at 6.1. XXXXX

And the scores on the doors are......

5.5%

Looks like Natalie was closest!

WOW!!!

I did debate whether to choose 5.5 but couldn't believe it would be that low. Congratulations.
