Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi,

I was diagnosed with Type 2 in November 2010 and until my last review my control was good. It came as a shock to be told last week that my HbA1c had shot up quite considerably. My diabetes nurse has referred me to the community diabetes team for consideration for Byetta (tbf I am a chubster despite many attempts to shift weight).

Enough with the self-pity. I can't believe it's taken me so long to find this forum. Looking forward to visiting and learning going forward.

Nikki

Hi Nikki, welcome to the forum 🙂 Glad you found us, hopefully we will be able to help you get things under control 🙂 Are you on any medication currently? I'd recommend having a read of the excellent Maggie Davey's letter - it may give you some good ideas of some changes you might be able to implement straight away to get you started on the path to the 'new you' 🙂 Try to make good, steady and sustainable changes, it's a marathon not a sprint, and making too many drastic changes at once can leave people yoyo-ing rather than making enduring progress 🙂 If you can manage some good, daily exercise that will really help 🙂

Please let us know if you have any questions, you're among people who understand and whatever your question someone will bound to have a similar experience or be able to provide an answer 🙂

HI Nikkii
